Beginning just before the new year (2020), Walker Methodist became the new management organization for Eastwood Senior Living in Mora.
“We are excited to manage this beautiful community,” said Shelli Bakken, director of operations at Walker Methodist. “Our mission is to bring life—to enhance the lives of seniors through a culture of care, respect and service. We are eager to bring our culture and expertise to Mora.”
The Eastwood community is comprised of 30 apartments. Eastwood, which opened its doors in 2010, is connected to the Eastwood Life Enrichment Center, a senior community center owned and operated by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in Mora.
Managing the Mora community aligns well with Walker Methodist’s mission and vision as well. “Our mission guides our creativity and innovation as we seek opportunities to build programs, service offerings and residences in the future,” said Anneliese Peterson, vice president of operations at Walker Methodist.
“We care for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community and are committed to serving this population. Because of our history and record of accomplishment, we are one of the leading providers of housing, healthcare, and rehabilitative services for older adults in Minnesota,” said Peterson.
Walker Methodist is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to respect, imagination, and collaboration. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Walker Methodist has been providing care dating back to 1876 and fully serving older adults since 1945. Learn more at www.walkermethodist.org.
